Oscar de la Renta

The designer’s first standalone store in London, a bespoke fit-out, defines luxurious retail for this global fashion icon

Portview completed the brand’s first standalone store in London, on the corner of Mayfair’s famous Mount Street and Berkeley Square.

The fit out was completed in 28 weeks and involved stripping back the building to its original shell then building the project almost entirely from start to finish.

The Portview team managed everything from strengthening the building’s structure and refurbishing the staircase to the lighting, utilities and telephones. The store’s bespoke furniture was designed in New York and so, once the manufacturing drawings had been completed, it had to be manufactured in its entirety and installed by Portview.

The central London location provided its own set of challenges so coordination was essential.

  • Client: Oscar de la Renta
  • Location: Mayfair, London
  • Size: 300 sq m
  • Timescale: 28 weeks
  • Designer: Meyer Davis
  • Budget: £1.2m

“Our new London store is an incredible centrepiece that really helps us to showcase our latest ranges in a luxurious retail environment. Organising the entire project while creating a completely bespoke set of furniture isn’t an easy ask, but Portview were incredibly professional and rose to the challenge.”
