Portview’s Charity Partnership A Roaring Success
Portview Fit-Out is celebrating being associated with not one but two coveted wins at the recent Retail Week Interiors Awards.
Harvey Nichols, Birmingham, where Portview carried out the internal fit-out, won Best Department Store at the gala event at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane London, while Issey Miyake in London took the gong in the Best Lighting & Fixturing category.
Entered into the Best Department Store category by Virgile + Partners, the Harvey Nichols store in Birmingham is a 45,000sq ft fit-out that incorporates contrasting textures and finishes as well as innovative add-ons including a 5mx3.5m digital screen which is used instead of traditional windows to showcase content and increase footfall.
Customers enter the Harvey Nichols store through an inventive 12m tunnel which features a cutting edge digital art installation and an oversized baroque crystal chandelier to produce a theatrical decorative effect while an eclectic mix of materials adds further innovation to this state-of-the-art store.
Issey Miyake in London, which was entered into the Best Lighting and Fixturing category by iGuzzini and Hendry Electrical boasts world firsts in terms of design.
It’s a transformational fit-out in Brook Street, London that flaunts dramatic features and finishes including an anodised aluminium finish in a bespoke colour on large sheets of metal that were fixed to the walls – the first of its kind in the world. Additional fixtures here make this store reminiscent of an art installation rather than anything currently seen in retail interiors.
Simon Campbell, Managing Director of Portview Fit-out said: “It’s always immensely satisfying when our projects are recognised in major awards.
“Praise must go out to our partners involved in these projects. Realising a visually stunning and forward-thinking project is always a team effort.”
