Portview is Good As Gold
Generous employees at Belfast-based Portview Fit-Out have donated more than £18,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the wishes of seriously ill children across the UK.
The fit-out specialist, which operates in the luxury retail, stadia, hospitality and corporate sectors, raised £18,350 by organising a series of charity raffles, social events, and sport competitions throughout 2017. Portview also donated ten GoPro cameras and accessories to Make-A-Wish so families can capture the wish experiences of their loved ones on film; the first donation of its kind to the charity.
From fitting-out a sensory room for a child, to swimming with dolphins or the chance to meet a sporting legend, the money will help to fund a kaleidoscope of wishes for children who are living with life limiting illnesses.
Managing Director of Portview Fit-Out, Simon Campbell said:
“I’m exceptionally proud of our employees who have gone the extra mile to raise as much funds and awareness as possible to support the incredible work that Make-A-Wish do.
“In Portview, our company ethos is to turn the most imaginative and ambitious of ideas into reality, whether it’s for clients, employees, or the community. Having smashed our fundraising target of £3,000 within just a few short months, our employees got behind the charity right from the very start and are now able to give some incredibly brave children the opportunity to escape life’s struggles and live out their dreams for a day - and that, is priceless.
“We are really excited to hear all about the wishes we have been able to grant in the next coming months and wish the entire Make-A-Wish team all the best in their future endeavours.”
Make-a-Wish grant the wishes of seriously ill children and young people by creating memories that build confidence and happiness, as well as provide respite from the daily struggles of living with a life-threatening condition.
Northern Ireland Fundraising Manager of Make-A-Wish, Gail McKee said:
“We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Portview Fit-Out throughout 2017 and are absolutely delighted with the fantastic amount raised. This will go to help grant even more magical wishes to children and young people living with life-threatening conditions.
“Thank you so much to everyone involved. You really have helped make such an amazing difference.”
