A newly restored Portland stone floored lobby brings visitors into the Grade II listed building, where the space is punctuated by a renovated grand feature staircase with metal bannisters and an oak handrail.

Previously the historic Morris & Co. showroom, the refitted gallery provides a reposeful and understated exhibition space on three floors, with a library and research centre on the fourth.
This important building was brought up to date with woodworm protection, IT systems, air conditioning, electrics and lighting and washroom facilities.
The fit-out had to have minimal impact on the fabric of the building, for example, all ironmongery had to be specially bronzed and aged to retain authenticity.
Additional structural works were required to strengthen floor joists and all available unseen space was incorporated as storage.
